Ocean Uprise Youth Summit

THE OCEAN UPRISE SUMMIT FOCUSES ON THE SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE OCEANS AND THE CO-CREATION OF SOLUTIONS TO PROTECT THEM

In order to protect marine ecosystems and their inhabitants, we need to get to know them, because we only protect what we love! There’s no better way to learn about the sea than through total immersion into it. This belief guided the creation of the OU Summit, which blends ocean education and activism with exploration on, under, in, and around the ocean.

The OU Summit is a 4-day experience dedicated to empowering young leaders to accelerate change for the oceans through ocean immersion, hands-on activism, and expanding their knowledge about the significance of marine ecosystems as well as the main threats the oceans are facing, alongside learning from community leaders and indigenous practices which celebrate the ocean and rich cultural heritage. Together with world-class leaders, each Summit allows 30 of the top global youth activists to come together to learn and collaborate and grow their connection with ocean ecosystsems, connect with peers and find route to put ideas into action.

The next Ocean Uprise Summit is planned for 2026, in Oʻahu Hawaiʻi.
