The Empire State Building Goes Blue
On June 8, 2017, Diego Luna, actor and ambassador for the Corona x Parley partnership, and Cyrill Gutsch, Parley founder, illuminated the Empire State Building in blue to honor World Oceans Day.
The moment signaled a wake-up call and the start of a new chapter in conservation — the beginning of a race against time to end marine plastic pollution.
Prior to the lighting ceremony, Diego was among speakers at the World Oceans Day celebration co-organized by Parley during the United Nations Ocean Conference held June 5-9 in New York.
"If we are capable of destroying this beautiful thing called the oceans, we’re also capable of bringing change for good. Let’s show ourselves that. Let’s set the example. Let’s change the way we behave on this beautiful planet. And let’s do it fast because we’re running out of time."
